A big part of the success in Stratus' transition to the Edge was the project work that was completed with Espalier.AI (formerly Boston Analytics). I am happy to announce a strategic partnership between Daruma Advisors and Espalier. Espalier is a different sort of consulting firm that specializes in analytics and AI based research to help guide major decisions such as new market entry, M&A and risk assessment.
Espalier has been around for over 12 years and has built excellent relationships in the investing world helping firms like Siris Capital source new investments as well as advise their portfolio companies (which is how I met them 6 years ago.
What's exciting about this relationship is that I think a Daruma / Espalier combination is a boon for technology companies. Leveraging the strategic experiences I bring to the table, I can help clients develop strategies that leverage vast amounts of market data to define their future state and better understand the markets they serve.
For instance my new ASTRA offerings, they are an enhanced version of the work I did with Espalier at Stratus. We were able to create a deep underdstanding of the Edge computing market and develop a strategic roadmap for the company. However, we were able to deliver a level of granularity of that market (by identifying over 200 GTM market partner ) that we handed over directly to our sales and marketing teams to drive new customer growth.
The ability to take massive amounts of unstructured data and translate it from a high level strategy into a set of specific target accounts by territory is something that could take years to accomplish and we were about to do it in about 3 months.
I am a firm believer that Data Science and AI will change corporate strategy forever and I think Espalier is at the forefront of developing a set of tools that I can use to help clients take advantage of these new capabilities.
